I’ve delayed finishing the section of my course unit to update my blog. I’ve been struggling to find time aside from studying and sleeping to spend time doing these kinds of things, but I had the urge to write, instead of study, so here I am.
I am currently sitting in the middle of my sofa in my living room, with one dog asleep aside the chair, and another out for the count underneath my duvet which is placed next to me. I was going to snuggle up under it, but didn’t quite get that far. I am also listening to ‘Florence and the Machine’ through my laptop. I love the tone of her voice.

I’m going to set up this entry in a slightly different way than normal, due to my entries getting pretty long! Click the ‘Continue reading’ button to read the full entry.

I’ve officially been studying with the Open University for two weeks now, and the time has flown by! I’ve been to my first tutorial, and started work on the first assignment, and I think things are progressing nicely!
I struggled slightly when I reached the beginning of the second unit, (the Representations unit). I worked through the harder parts of that unit though and started to enjoy the work towards the end. I’m now working on the 3rd unit (Crossing the boundary: Analogue universe, digital world). I’ve definitely enjoyed it much much more than the previous two units. (The first was just an introduction and was slightly boring, the 2nd a little harder to get my head around as it didn’t appear at first to have much relation to computers, and the 3rd unit I’ve enjoyed much more, especially the binary section).

I’ve always written in journals both online and offline, and it has to be said, I’ve never done it conventionally. I’m told I should keep my entries to a maximum of 250 words, stick on topic, and make my entries as readable as possible, and I just don’t agree! I’m writing my blog for me, because it helps me digest my thoughts and feelings, not because I’m looking for popularity (although that would be a little bit nice..).

Another blog entry! 19 days to the start of my course. My mood has changed slightly from overwhelming excitement to slightly nervous! I’m not sure why to be honest, i think it just dawned on me that I’ll be starting University and will be working towards a degree! Is so far from where I’ve been at in my life the past few years. I never thought I’d be preparing for study at the Open University, thats for sure.
Slowly more and more of the StudentHome website is becoming available to me, I’m now able to read over the course materials online (the material I’m waiting to arrive in the post). I haven’t given it too much of a read, as Ill do that when it arrives in the post, but has been good to see more in depth what each unit is going to contain.
